Planning Sustainable Places

Unit 2: Topic 1 - Responding to Challenges Facing a Place in Australia

Formative Assessment: Investigation – Field Report

Students will investigate changing land use in a Gold Coast suburb, Labrador by using a range of geographical skills to collect data. Students will analyse spatial and urban data to propose action to improve sustainability and liveability for people and the environment.

Fieldwork booklet and equipment will be provided by Jacobs Well EEC.

 

Optional: Overnight camp including a spatial mapping and data analysis session, team building and canoeing. We can tailor a camp program to specifically meet your needs.

Pre-requisites: Resources will be provided for students to study at school prior to the excursion to develop their knowledge of changing land use in Labrador and to develop their inquiry questions.

Requirements: Students will be outdoors all day so need to be dressed in clothing to protect from the sun and comfortable walking shoes. Hats must be worn.
