Students conduct a transect study across South Stradbroke island from the exposed eastern fore-dunes dominated by spinifex to the sheltered western lee-ward side of the island. Students investigate successional changes observed in the soil composition and plant communities. Particular attention is given to the roles and adaptations of a variety of coastal plant species.
