Students visit three sites along the Pimpama River to investigate the issues affecting this small catchment: land clearing, weed invasion, bush regeneration, urban and motorway development, agricultural land use and Acid Sulphate Soils. Students conduct water quality testing, riparian assessment and Acid Sulphate Soils testing (optional) to assess the health of the system. Students analyse and reflect on their findings against a set of criteria. In their written report, they demonstrate decision making processes, research and communication skills.
