Description

Science 8–10

Students examine and identify plankton with the use of compound or stereoscopic microscopes. A variety of phytoplankton and zooplankton including crab, prawn and shrimp juveniles are commonly observed. Students investigate the various adaptations and discuss the importance of plankton, environmental influences, survival strategies and effects from human impact.
