The Spit Master Plan
Unit 2: Environmental Change and Management
Assessment: Investigation – Field Report (practice for Senior Geography - optional)
Students will learn about coastal processes at the Spit and use a range of geographical skills to collect data to investigate an environmental change. Observe and record human impacts and strategies to manage change sustainably, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Peoples' approaches to custodial responsibility and environmental management.
Fieldwork booklet and equipment will be provided by Jacobs Well EEC.
Optional: Overnight camp including a spatial mapping and data analysis session, team building and canoeing. We can tailor a camp program to specifically meet your needs.
Pre-requisites: A video resource will be provided on The Spit Master Plan. Knowledge and understanding of coastal processes is beneficial.
Requirements: Students will be outdoors all day so need to be dressed in clothing to protect from the sun and comfortable walking shoes. Hats must be worn.
